ART DIRECTION
Toolkits. Tampons. Pickle Factories.
I’ve been fortunate enough to act as an art director, animation director, creative director and sometimes all three (so. many. hats.) on numerous projects, from web series to social videos.
Here’s a handful of my favorites. Please reach for a detailed breakdown of the work.
Capital One: AWS OOH Campaign

Capital One: AWS OOH Campaign *
OOH campaign created for Capital One to run across all major digital OOH screens in Las Vegas during the AWS re: Invent summit.
I acted as Animation Director at Monks, overseeing pre-production and storyboard creation. Then, working closely with the creative team, producer and production house Fort, I directed the look and feel of the animation while ensuring both client and internal feedback was understood. I also triple-checked and organized all specs and files to ensure a smooth and seamless handoff when delivering the final animations.

Capital One: Business Stories

Capital One: Business Stories *
A series of 15s pre-roll videos created for Capital One Business highlighting how small business owners benefit by partnering with Capital One.
I acted as Animation Director at Monks overseeing pre-production, assisting in storyboard creation and directing our team of character animators. I worked close with the creative team translating script to storyboard and making sure everything adhered to Capital One’s brand guidelines. I also worked closely with the producer and animators, ensuring internal and client feedback was understood as well as pushing the work when needed.
Animation was a mix of After Effects and live action stock footage. Two hero spots featured hand-drawn digital animation while the other two hero spots featured a mixture of digital animation and live action.
Cutdowns and resizes were then built for social.
Cleo: Brand Relaunch

Cleo: Brand Relaunch *
A series of AI-based animations created for Cleo, an AI-based finance-management app, to tease and launch their brand’s new look and feel with a mix of mystery and optimism (and maybe just a hint of weirdness).
My primary role was Animation Director, though I flexed as AI artist and Motion Designer more than once to ensure our quick-turn deadlines were hit. I worked closely with the Monks creative team to guide pre-production and direct the team of motion designers, 3D artists and AI artists working across multiple programs. I aided in problem-solving when it came to client feedback, ensuring our team understood the notes as well as finding creative workarounds when the AI programs zigged instead of zagged (ask me about the broccoli).
The look and feel was a wonderfully atmospheric play on AI’s surreality and the concept of liminal space. All animation was created using a mix of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Visual Electric and ChatGPT.

A 15s Youtube video introducing J.P. Morgan Digital, a new offering under the larger J.P. Morgan Payments group.
I was brought in as Animation Director at Monks to oversee pre-production, assist in storyboard creation and direct our motion designer and 3D artist. I worked close with the creative team translating script to storyboard and concepting visuals that supported the supers while also engaging the audience. I also worked closely with the producer and motion artist, ensuring feedback was understood and pushing the work where needed.

Capital One: YouTube Pre-roll *
A series of 15s pre-roll videos I acted as art and animation director on for Capital One at Decoded Advertising.
In the middle of a brand refresh, Capital One gave us a limited interim illustration guide to follow. I designed and illustrated all of the characters and environments in Illustrator and storyboarded each spot, working closely with our copywriter.
I then oversaw and directed the animation for each spot as well as voice over record and audio edit session.

RedDrop: Social Campaign
*
RedDrop: Social Campaign *
Social campaign created for RedDrop as an Art Director at Decoded Advertising, as part of our Small Business accelerator program.
I teamed up with a fellow art director-copywriter team to concept for our initial round of creative. The winning idea was centered around getting comfy with talking about un-comfy topics, like periods.
I created mood boards as well as the look, tone and feel of sets. I then designed and directed the construction of our “Pee-Wee Herman meets Menstruating Womb” set in addition to storyboarding our 30sec hero spot, "Now's a Good Time: To Talk About Periods".
As we moved into pre-production, I lead a small team of builders to bring our set to life, building layered womb walls from foam board, creating tampon pillows and menstrual pad blankets.
In addition to cross-stitching "Live Laugh Bleed" and crafting a chandelier from menstrual pads, I also designed, built, puppeteered and christened Eunice the Uterus - a sassy but wise mentor for the young femmes lounging in our plush pad.
Highlights include... well, just about everything, but special shoutout to copywriter Kayla for her dancing nails and singing talents!
Vive: Toolkit

Vive: Toolkit *
Vive: YouTube Pre-Roll
A toolkit of illustrations and icons, as well as an animated ad in the form of a YouTube pre-roll I created for Vive, a blowout subscription service.
For the pre-roll video, I designed and created all of the characters and environments in Illustrator, animated them in After Effects and even provided the final voice-over used in the spot.
Vive: Toolkit & Character Design
For the toolkit, I was asked to design all the icons used on the site and mobile app, from hairdryers to salon chairs. Lines and angles played a big part in the site design, so I tried to incorporate those into the illustrations.
In addition to icons, I was asked to design the “Vive” girl - sophisticated but fun, mature but flirty - as well as imagining what her daily routine might include, from shopping to yoga to catching some rays.
And last but not least, for special deals or discounts, I created a series of “gift” icons in both static and Gif format, as well as a preload animation for the site.
Web Series: Adulting
*
Web Series: Adulting *
For Bustle's web series Adulting, I acted as art director, animator and prop designer.
Working closely with the writer, I storyboarded each episode, coming up with the look and feel of the web series. I designed, animated and edited the title sequence as well as animating each super and lower third. I sourced and customized all props and sets for each episode, acting as stylist and animator on all stop-motion sequences.
Episode 01 teaches us some creative ways to open a wine bottle. Always fun when you get to play with a blowtorch on set!
Web Series: Race 2 Face
*
Web Series: Race 2 Face *
For Bustle's webseries Race 2 Face, I acted as set and production designer as well as developing the entire graphics package.
A MUA-meets-Marc Summers game show, contestants would answer makeup-related questions for the chance to grab beauty product prizes in one of our "Hide 'n Sleek Challenges". I was given the job of conceptualizing and creating 6 larger-than-life props for each challenge. Each had to be makeup-themed and make a mess. I then acted as head of production design on set, directing a team of PAs, running props on and off as well as set-dressing and cleaning up a seemingly endless amount paint and confetti.
As we went into post production, I designed and animated the entire graphics package before handing off to the editors.
O.B. Tampons: Earth Day PSA
*
O.B. Tampons: Earth Day PSA *
Earth Day video produced by LBi NY for environmentally conscious O.B. Tampons.
Aside from playing clean-up artist in post production, I built the set and most of the props seen in the video, including the infamous tampon tower. I also acted as production designer on set for a very run-and-gun shoot in Coney Island.
We bought two live crabs and A LOT of tampons.
Music Video: Moons

Music Video: Moons *
A song for that little dog lost in space.
Personal short film set to a song by Josh Ritter. I developed the look and feel, storyboarded and designed all elements in Photoshop and finally animated everything using a mix of Adobe Animate and After Effects.
